Requesting Credit Increase

Do any CC do automatic increases now or do you have to ask? I asked Flybe and they said they could after doing a credit search...would that be a recorded credit search...I don't want too many of those.

Lenders' procedures vary.
Some (eg. RBS, MBNA) automatically increase credit limits over time, provided that you keep within the Ts & Cs.
If you request an increase of £500 or more from any provider, then be prepared for a credit check. (If you were handed an increase just prior to your request, you'll be checked anyway, but staff normally advise you accordingly.)
Yes, you've applied for new credit in effect.I asked Flybe and they said they could after doing a credit search. Would that be a recorded credit search?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

Just received a letter about an automatic increase with Barclaycard from £4,500 to £6,400 limit, even though I never spend anywhere near the original sum, and always pay it off in full each month!!!!
Surely, going by all said on here, I am not the sort of customer that makes them money, no interest paid, so puzzled by the increase!

They still make money on every purchase you make, as the retailer has to pay them a percentage of the transaction to the credit card company.0
