Endowment Questionnaire

I have made a complaint about a NU Endowment sold by the Woolwich in 1988 and today I have received a 12 page questionnaire from Barclays.
I can answer most of the questions but there is a section asking if I have any Peps or ISAs. I do have a Cash ISA with another BS and a very small amount in a Pep, but I didn't have these when I took out the endowment and I don't see why this has any bearing on whether the endowment was mis-sold or not.
Also another section asks if I have made any overpayments to the mortgage.
Well, yes I have, but only because of the dire warnings about endowments in the past few years (my shortfall is around £14000) and I have been trying to do something about it myself.
Again I don't see why my overpayments should affect any compensation.
Can anybody advise me on this ?
Thanks in advance.

These questions serve to see if you had prior investments and therefore would have known that endowments could go down as well as up.0

Sorry, under and over payments affect compensation as does the lender method and any fixed/discount rates.0

Just put "not applicable" or "don't know" to anything you don't want to answer or can't remember.
Quite often they are fishing for information having lost/destroyed your file, no need to tell them anything they should already know.Trying to keep it simple...0 -

Thanks for that EdInvestor I think 'not applicable' should be acceptable in this situation so I think I'll do this.

I'm just completing some forms just now and am concerned about some of the information or contact permission being requested
For example:
Why would they need permission to contact
current & ex employers
any lender who we may have borrowed money from
insurers or pension providers we took a policy out with
any solicitor who may have acted on our behalf
One form in particular asks us to enclose any original paperwork (including illustration) in relation to the policy - surely they should have all this?? If I send them the originals then all I'd have are copies if I need to pursue this further, that's even if I still have this.
Another form wants to know every mortgage lender we've had since taking out the endowment with details of all the interest rates during this time - isn't that their job as they should have this on record when the policies are assigned to lenders?
Slightly pi**ed off

Okay after re-reading the Which Endowment help site, I called the company asking for permission to contact the list above - apparently it's a standard form they send to all complainants and they will only contact those applicable to my particular case - I asked if I could score through those not applicable to an endowment complaint & they agreed.
I also stated that I had requested a copy of my endowment file from them which hadn't been received and now they were asking me for my original documentation - the response was not to bother with this if I didn't have anything to send????? So it does look like they were hoping I'd do part of their job for them.
Oh well back to completing the questionnaires.

If you still have the original paperwork send them a copy. It's not like you're out to con them into giving you the money.0

They have no legal requirement to supply it to you. Data protection does not apply here.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

They've probably lost or destroyed the file. That's normally the case, hence all this fishing for information on the questionnaires.Trying to keep it simple...0 -

In your opinion, if I have any information relating to the original consultation and illustration, should I send them copies? Does it in anyway help my case?
If they have lost or destroyed their documentation is that their misfortune?
