Can I have a rant please about Ebay seller stuff?

Ooh er, I'm not a regular seller on Ebay only when I'm having a clear out and I'm due one of them now
. Having read this thread I'm a little worried I might be out of touch with some of Ebay's do's and don'ts.... is this tutorial thing widely available or do I have to make mistakes in order to be invited to take it? Would just feel safer if I had "the knowledge"! Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0 -
Keyword spamming is an art form of which I am a master.Terms & Conditions Apply0

I have to say, keyword spamming really annoys me, and I've reported people for it in the past and would do again.
Yup. Just try searching Star Wars Lego, only about half the listings end up actually being for an item thats both star wars and lego!
Is there some way of adding html (or another) code into a blanked out part of a listing? Because a lot of times I find when searching for collactables things come up without any mention of one of the keywords, well above other listings that contain both? So an example for the above would be getting lots of listings for Star Wars products that don't feature 'lego' anywhere in the listing....?0 -

Hi Chuzzle, I think the tutorial is only if you're 'naughty' - it takes the form of a quiz where they give you little scenarios with a multiple choice answer - and then they explain why the answer is what it is.
I have to say, on one of the questions, which was something about 'Why has Ebay taken your listings down and not loads of other people's'? I selected the answer (which was a genuine option) (b) BECAUSE EBAY IS UNFAIR :rotfl:just for the hell of it to see if anything would happen
I have been hiding every time the doorbell rings now in case it's the Ebay police come to give me a slap
However if you search for rules on listing or something like that I am sure there will be some kind of explanation - if they're going to suspend you for doing stuff they should at least do you the courtesy of telling you what that stuff is

I put 'If paying by E-Cheque please contact me before bidding'
Then if anyone does they'll be told I'm going away for a while so will be unable to wait for E-Cheques to clear.
Been marked down for postage time when posting the same day E-Cheque clears.0 -
Most people don't actually realise that they are paying by e-cheque. 99% of the time it's not a option that people choose, rather one that they have to use.MUMMYTO2BOYS wrote: »I put 'If paying by E-Cheque please contact me before bidding'

Been marked down for postage time when posting the same day E-Cheque clears. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Try ctrl+f and then type lego in the box.... if not then is it miscategorised? That can often lead to wrong stuff coming up.Yup. Just try searching Star Wars Lego, only about half the listings end up actually being for an item thats both star wars and lego!

If you type "star wars lego" will it not bring up any listing for any star wars item (lots) or any lego item (also lots).
There were some search tips posted a few days ago, but is something like "star wars"+lego not the best way to find only star wars lego ?0 -
No, the + is implied and unessecary. If you searched for a blue top you would not get all blue things and all tops, but if you searched like this:If you type "star wars lego" will it not bring up any listing for any star wars item (lots) or any lego item (also lots).

I like a ranting thread!
I would like to rant about the 10% charge on the final listing fee that is now being applied, absolutely disgusting :mad:0
