Very sad looking Pebble Dash

Hi all. We live in a semi built around 1930. The house was already pebble dashed and painted when we baought it 10 years ago. I have never painted it but now that a new conservatory is coming,. we have to keep up with the Joneses and the Pebble Dash better behave itself. However because of the conservatory, a large part of the wall will not be accessible soon.
I am considering having the pebble dash covered by one of those "never paint it again" job (pebble dash VERY strong on wall).
There are numerous companies offering their very similar products (wethertex, etc) with large difference in quotes. Any help or advise here please??

They seem very expensive to me.I would just get a painting firm to do it with masonary paint such as weathershield.Should last a good few years and there is no such thig as an inaccessible wall. There's always a way to get at it later.I've done it myself with a scaffold tower each side of the conservatory and what is known as a Youngman board spanning the two.0

Our pebble dash walls still looking good after 4yrs . Luckily I have a handy son-in-law bless him who helps out with jobs we cannot manage so we just pay for the paint. I think the last lot we used was Sandtex it went on very well and has remained white and bright .. I would recommend it and as woodbutcher says most walls are reachable one way or another.....
Just had another think and now not sure if the paint was Sandtex or Weathershield ... sorry...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

i always use a stabilising solution before painting exterior masonary, goes on with a roller or a brush and makes the paint stay attached a lot longer, about £15-20 for 5 litres from most diy stores, seals the dust to the wall and allows the paint to stick0

Would people recommend painting pebbledash? I don't like the pebbledashing on our house but not quite sure that painting it is the right thing to do?0

It's hard work but can be done.I did it about three houses ago and it still looks good when i pass.Used stabilising solution and Wickes stone coloured masonary paint.0

Thanks all, have found a young chap down the South who is quoting a fair price for a "never paint that wall again" application. I have contacted one of hios past customers and his work sounds good. So watch the space and I will let you have his name/details etc.0

I was told by a master builder years ago NEVER to paint pebbledash. if you need to freshen it up consider hiring a power sprayer. an all-day job but worked well on mine.miladdo0 -
What's a master builder and how do you become one? I'm curious.0

Ah! the good old Federation of Master Builders. In my experience, all you need to become one of them is a hefty joining fee.Same as the Guild of Master Craftsmen, pay them a fee and they give you a nice sticker for your van.0
