Thanks -the slowness is then probably me trying to do things I'm not allowed to do - it has to think about it before it comes back with an error message

The transfer between accounts will most likely work tomorrow morning.
I vaguely remember the same thing when I have opened new accounts.

Don't know about the missing £100 but wouldn't be surprised if that too showed up tomorrow.

I was missing £1,001 in one of my new accounts yesterday, with a balance of -£1,000 being displayed - all back to normal today.

I transferred £100 from Natwest. It appeared online within 10 mins, however I was not allowed to transfer it back for 24 hours (call centre confirmed this when I asked). This is because their system does not up date to show you that the account has moved from application stage to operational stage until the next day.

Aparently an error on input (putting £300 into 1 account instead of £100 into each) -which was then cancelled, meant that when the £100 was put in it went to clearing account. Much consternation in the branch who after 5 calls managed to contact the right department who have now allocated the funds to me and it should show up tomorrow.
