Help please- Cahoot

Hi All,

I wish to try and claim back the PPi on a Cahoot credit card, and a Cahoot loan which after reading all of the posts on here I believe to be missold.
At present, both agreements are with DCA's, 1) Moorcroft, 2) Equidebt.
Please could someone give me some much needed guidance of where to start.

A) do I write to the DCA's or Cahoot to receive paperwork.
B) What is the right approach and what template should I use.

Sorry for stupid question but I'm really keen to get the ball rolling, but am also really confused.

Thanks in advance

Ned

    Hello Ned and welcome.;)

It makes no difference if your finances are now with DCA, give it a go.

However, I will point out that if successful, it could be a case that they may refund the amount to the arrears, then anything remaining back to you, but every bank varies from one to another, still it will help you either way I'm sure.;)

With your reasons, you write to the ones that arranged and sold you the finance, do not write to the DCA.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Keep at them until they uphold/resolve in your favour, or until they issue you with the final decision - sometimes you do get the opportunity to write back to them again with further information.

Do not worry about writing the amounts, and post all letters by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting.

Below there is a link of Martin's with useful info, template letters and a checklist of mis selling reasons, this is a guide to help you through.

Good luck with this, if you require any help, please post up.
Please also let us know how you get on, cheers.;)

    Hi Di,

Thanks for the kind welcome, it's a bit nervous dipping your toes in on this forum, as everybody seems to know what to do, but I'm grateful for your help.
Please bear with me as I'll probably be asking lots of questions in the near future.
I have just rang Cahoot and now I'm not sure what to do about the PPI, as the man I spoke to said that they couldn't have possibly have mis-sold me the insurance as it was an online application where i would have ticked a yes or no box!
Has anybody else had this and pursued a claim?
Dont know what to do now, anything that will reduce the overall debt wil help so not worried if they refund the PPI's back onto the accounts?

I also believe that in the time leading up to the transfer of these two debts to the DCA's they would have placed quite a few charges onto each account.
Can anybody advise if It is worth pursuing these too?
The man said I have to send in a Subject Access Request and he will send out statements for both accounts, is there a template for this on here too?
Sorry for so many questions, and thanks again

    Hi Ned and with pleasure.;)
    Of course ask away anytime.

To start, try to keep everything in writing, and keep copies in case you need to refer to them later on sometimes, by ringing, they may try to fob you off, so write to them instead.
With the link I posted on my last post, you will find the reclaiming letter templates.

There have been much success for many who have purchased online, it may be a little more difficult, but stand your ground, with the reasons you have.

A SAR is good if you've no paperwork, and yes there is a letter template for this on the link below, remember to enclose £10 either by postal order or cheque payment for this, and they have 40 days to comply, and send everything they still hold on you.

This should help with any PPI take out and charges that you can also try to reclaim on.

For charges though, I would keep this separately and post on the appropriate thread for that one, where you will receive the right help on this matter, on this link here:

Keep at them Ned, you will get there, even if this does not get resolved by the final decision by the banks, you always have the FOS.;)

Hi Ned - can I what year you took out your loan. I had a cahoot loan & clearly remember when applying that you had to opt in to take PPI (I didn't) the reason I ask is that I printed off screen dumps as I applied & I can have a look & check things for you if around the same time
