I'd prefer to not name them until this is all sorted - or is that me being overly cautious?

Yes, that's definitely you being overly cautious.....:D
  • Just wanted to put on record that I have spoken with Trading Standards, and Consumer Direct, and both have confirmed that the position that seems to have been supported on this thread is true - namely that it is not a custom build.

(Interestingly - if you go to a retailer with a list of specs you want and ask them to build it, this is probably going to be a custom build.... makes sense I guess.)

Wanted to thank everybody for their input and now just have to wait to see how the company respond.

    Cheers all!
The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions belong to me; the distinction is yours to draw...

I've been searching for stuff and stumbled across this thread. It turned out not be relevant to me, but grabbed my attention none the less. I need to know what happened!

Any chance of an update? :D

Not at all. If you're going down the court route, it could prejudice your case if you mention the company's name here. You're right to be cautious.

Is there really no possibility it could be resolved amicably though? Has the computer arrived yet?
