Home phone master socket

Help please!

The master socket where our phone line comes into the house is on the point of crumbling and it needs both replacing and hopefully moving 3 or 4 feet up the wall - it is currently on the skirting board and is regularly kicked/hit by the hoover.

So my (probably very silly) question is - do I ring BT to get this done? And how much is it likely to cost me?

Thanks for all your help!

Yes,BT or a representative are the only ones who can do this. It's breaking the Telecomms Act for anyone else to do it.
    It's about £160!

My line is so old I don't even have a master socket - just an old junction box with GPO written on it

Hi cyclingyorkie, I'm sorry to hear that your master socket needs replacing. I'd be happy to help get this sorted for you, but would need you to confirm your BT account details. You can send this information to forum.moderation.team@bt.com and I'll be happy to help you. Alternatively, this information can be sent in a PM. Thanks Natasha
