    (a) i think you should eat your lunch in the lobby or in reception!! and when they come to tell you to move, launch into a list of reasons why you can't eat your lunch anywhere else!!

    (b) what about asking your boss if you can eat your lunch in a little corner of their office, seeing that you can't eat at your own desk and canteen is restricted. if asked why, launch into same list of reasons and shame boss into doing something about it.

and when the rain stops you can always eat outside. I would opt for the steps right outside the front entrance of your building. if asked to remove yourself....well you get the drift!!

I agree, surely they can't ban you from bringing in your own lunches? I'd look at a thermos, coolbag etc. Howabout doing wraps for lunch one day, or a pasta salad?

You could get all revolutionary and see if anyone else at the office feels the same way - get together and start a 'We Want A Kettle' campaign. Chain yourselves to your desks................oh hang on, that would make the compnay happy. Scratch that!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

But have a vision of being escorted from the premises and my tea bags, sandwiches, tupperware of milk, yoghurt, banana and tupperware of cereal (I'm not kidding, I actually bring all this to work every day, I like to cover all eventualities, just out of principle!!) being hurled down the street after me!:rotfl:

Thriftlady, minus the teabags you have just described the contents of my lunch bag. Well I say lunch more of breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack!

I also have a tupperware tub of dried fruit and nuts and a mug for a cup a soup. Oh and don't forget all the cutlery I need as well!

I used to work in a place exactly like this. I was single without kids at time and I agree with what black-saturn has said. I bought a food flask and would have soup/stew or hotdogs, taking rolls seperately or I would eat at the reduced price in the canteen and it saved on my food bills at home.

So obscene the way employers do this, it really is. I wouldnt eat in my works canteen as the quality is so poor, but the prices are cheap ( well ish)

hugs to you a snack pot is a good idea, or some sort of cool bag.

MAybe you sohuld get yourself one of those mini fridges they are selling off everywhere and stash it under your desk. that'll teach em!

If you work somewhere with lifts, how about taking in a camping stool and fold up table and setting yourself up in there? Would really pee the hell out of the boss and they might end up getting their rears in gear and sorting something proper out.

Sorry but this thread is hilarious!! The vision of the tupperware container coming flying through the air after ThriftyLady set me off into fits of giggles!

    Don't let 'em bully you.

Maybe we could all come to your place and stand outside with placards.
