APR, Credit Limit and status i.e you are usually well off to have one in your possetion oh and you typically have to be aged 21+.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
  • I was wondering about this also, as I have a RBS classic card but the platinum has the same lending criteria, APR etc, with the only difference being the i0% balance transfer offer.

Not that much these days as far as I can tell.

You may get a slightly lower APR but quite a few of the benefits and status seem to have been eroded. IMO, it's just as much a marketing tool.

The new status symbols appear to be the Black cards issued by providers but often come with a hefty fee as well.

In some cases you monthly income is taken into account mainly to refuse the higher grade card.

The black credit cards are for private bankers where you need 75k income per annum OR 50k in savings.

You have more chance by having 50k in savings than ever earning 75k a year to get a black card.

    Just marketing though.
