pc memory

i am looking for some more memory for my pc... have done a scan on crucial one scan i used the actual make model etc of pc and another scan using the make of motherboard. now the motherboard scan gives me more choice of memory.which scan should i use? thanks for your time !:D

    The motherboard is the main defining criteria (as long as the search took into account both the motherboards make and model) but there are some companies out there that will modify components from the off the shelf versions which could explain the differences. May be go for the one of your preference that both state it supports?
