Cheap hotels near Alton Towers?

Options
Hi,

Me and the other half are going to Alton Towers on the 30th October and are looking on staying in a hotel (not alton towers resort). Best I've found is £65 at a travelodge. Does anybody know anything cheaper? Im a student so money is quite tight :p

Thanks, Gemma.

Holiday Inn Express at Stoke, next to the football ground, £48:75 inc pretty good continental breakfast, cereals, toast, croissants etc. it's a good half hour drive away. Friends and family rate HERE.

You can follow the link in my 1st post or HERE if easier. The 2 for 1 rate is good too, we got 2 nights at the Stoke HI Express for 2ads + 2 ch for £65 Total inc b/fast. The F&F link there says book before 30th Sept 2009 but if you click through it is updated to 31/12/09. Make sure you read all the T&Cs as the rate is non refundable. I used it for a night in Spain and they asked for the voucher so make sure you take it !!
  • The last time me and my husband went to Alton Towers we stayed in a holiday park called Ashboune Heights which worked out really cheap as there were 6 of us sharing a caravan. There are quite a few holiday parks and some lodges around that area which might be worth a look? Although it will probably only work out cheaper if there is a group of you.
  • There are several nice B&Bs in Alton Village (and probably some not so nice ones I expect too, lol) along with a few pubs. B&B prices were typically around £50 per couple when we stayed earlier this year, but with much bigger/nicer breakfasts as well as being much closer than travel-lodges etc. We stayed at the Malthouse, and would happily stay again.

    enjoy!
