Spots after waxing tash ;o)

It always happens, why? The first 1-2 days afterwards is fine then I end up with small spots which come in 2-3 at a time. Does this happen to anyone else? I could try plucking I suppose, but Id be on forever getting all the fine little hairs.

  • Do you have it done at a salon? If so are they using wax suitable for sensitive skins? There is a big difference even though some say there isn't.

  • I pluck - just as i have sensitive skin. I am a trained beautician and still have problems after waxing due to sensitivity - i can wax my legs fine but eyebrows or lip is a no go for me :( It could be a number of reasons though, Maybe next time try sugaring or threading?

  • i find that some of my clients occasionally get it and i so also. my tutor once told me that it was to do with the skins moisture but im not too sure if thats true as i moisturise quite well and get them nearly every time.
  • It happens to me too. Best thing to do, is to apply Sudocrem over the area. In fact Sudocrem is great for random spots as well!

Have you tried bleaching instead? Obviously doesn't remove the hairs, but makes them blond and hardly visible.

On my mediterrean colouring, they would be far more visible

I normally get these for a couple of reasons

a, been waxing for over 4 years now every 4/5 weeks and I get the red spots because my hairs are now too 'weak' to push tho the skin so I have to crush aspin to draw them out and remove.

b, Been wearing skinny jeans or tights

That's just me but it tend to be reason a over all

I trim my darker upper lip hairs with a pair of scissors. Ave tried bleaching but it makes them coarser and more noticeable, waxing is a no go as is plucking I always end up with spots.

Trimming definitely makes it less noticeable - the thing with a waxed upper lip is it's suspiciously smooth, so I always end up thinking the person must be REALLY hairy to have to wax!

just my tuppence, it works for me.

I also get this and it has stopped me waxing my face full stop, i get it on my eyebrows as well and it stays red for a long time and creams don't do anything......in fact the first time i did it at a salon, i was very embarassed to go to car because of redness and my hubbie could not stop laughing when i got home

The same happened when i tried to epilate it...yes owch, never again, so at the moment and the forseeable future i've got a tash and have thought about getting that boots laser thing as you can now use it on your face but its dear and i'm not sure it's forever, which would be lovely ;)

I can wax and epilate everywhere else no probs, just my face. I've never tried one of those buff things like an emery board for the face, has anyone? and had good success?

I used to get spots after facial waxing but was advised to rinse over the area with vinegar, immediately after waxing and it works.:D

I dampen a cotton-wool ball with water, put a good splash off vinegar on (any sort) and wipe thoroughly. The smell soon goes I promise:p
