Is it worth appealing a Virgin decline?

                                  in Credit cards

Got declined for Virgin recently, all they said was 'unfortunately we cannot offer you a card on this occassion' - no reason was given, although it must be the '5' late payment marker I have from 6mths ago (under dispute, was placed when my account was in dispute so shouldn't even be on there the :mad::mad:).
I have 3 credit cards opened within the 6mths, and 2 catalogues, although I only had one catalogue when I applied for this. I also recently have a new current account, but this isn't showing on my report. It's a LTSB Classic, any idea why, there's no overdraft on there, maybe this is why?
Anyway I am in full time employment, been here 3mths (recent graduate), earning a decent wage now. Wanted to do a balance transfer ideally.
Is it worth me appealing at all or should I just forget it? I'm not applying for any more credit for AT LEAST 6 months now, no need to, but would very much like the Virgin card.
Oh, just for more info, had a Virgin card before, few late payments scattered about on Equifax but not on Experian. Settled in November 2008.
Hmm... Is it worth a try for the sake of a stamp? :rotfl:

I would've thought it's because you have taken on so much creidt in 6 months.
3 cards and 2 catalogues could equate to a fair amount and you may have used all your credit in those.
Also, if you are opening so many, it would make you a risk.0 -

I would say YES, why not ? They can only say no again.

So, not the 5 marker necessarily?
I think I've done fairly well though, getting all that new credit even with the 5 on file... I suppose Virgin thought 'eek' and flat refused me :rotfl:
Want to get rid of Vanquis (:mad::mad:) and Aqua as well, well not going to use them, just leave them open for another 6mths then close.
Got my Capital One and the Marbles card I have the 5 on :mad::mad:0 -
Would it help persuade them if I say I plan to do a couple of balance transfers to them (true)... ? Could also point out the fact that other lenders have given me a chance... And I have managed my accounts well since (despite Vanquis' interferance with their DD the :mad::mad:)
Oh, only had one catalogue when applied, so had an available credit of £1900 then - not a lot surely? It's a bit more now though 'coz Very accepted me
