Tesco online groceries

I was ordering my shopping online yesterday for delivery this morning. When it came to checkout, I was informed that a few of the money-saving offers would expire by the time my shopping was delivered, therefore I wasn't entitled to them.

Surely this is unfair? After all, I paid for my groceries yesterday, when the deal was still valid. It's not as if I can benefit from any new offers which have come into effect today. If there is a BOGOF deal I am not going to get the free item am I?

How does this work? If the pickers scan all your shopping presumably they do it on the day of delivery, so you should get the offers applicable at that time.

The shopping is picked and your card charged on the day of delivery. Therefore the price you pay is the price the items are selling for instore today.

They didn't use to give the date warning which was even more frustrating when you realised you'd paid more than expected when they were delivered.
Here I go again on my own....

You do not "buy" your shopping when you do it on-line. You give a shopping list which a shopper then uses to do your shopping list and your shopping charged depending on what the price is on that day. You will get any valid offers on that day.
To be fair on Tesco they do tell you if any offers will run out and do give you the chance to change your items or change the date of delivery so you can take advantage of the offers. I usually do my shop and then check the day before to see if there are any new offers I want to take advantage of.

I think the thing is with your shopping on-line is not think your ordering your shopping but giving someone a shopping list.

You've hit the nail on the head there - you pay the price the items are at in the store on the day they're picked and delivered. You don't pay until the day either, which is why you get the warning asking if you still want to go ahead. All the offers do say the expiry dates on them as you go through the shopping process, so sometimes it pays to arrange your delivery around the most tempting offers.
