you can appeal against it at dvla local office,

lol my dad always gets clamps and he just cuts the off and chucks the clamp in the bin i think he owns the dvla £13,000 in fines

The DVLA does not "fine" anyone. They are a government department that deals solely with driving licences and car tax, not car-parking. Are you sure you are talking about the right organization?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • I sincerely hope he does not cut genuine DVLA clamps off, he'll be in a lot more hot water than just a ppc clamper.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

a lot of clampers use crap locks and so the bolt cutters pictured should be up to the job!

Also heard about deflating your tyre and driving out of the clamp (decent clamps won't allow you to do this).

    Or call the police!

    Why not?

You're all prepared to cause criminal damage to someones clamp, but when they hijack your car and hold you hostage that's ok?

Maybe not, you're damaging the clampers property, so he can contact Civ Pol. If i were to phone i'd be telling them to get their a$$e$ down there as the matter will soon be turning into a Public Order offence if the tw4t doesn't get the clamp off my car!!

That would invoke a response from plod for breach of peace, poss crim damage if lock or clamp had been cut.
Bolt croppers waste of time with proper locks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjTndGHUW9w best off with grinder and a thin slitting disk

To answer one of the previous question, yes, the receipt does have a SIA licence number scribbled on (just about readable). I don't think they have anything to do with the DVLA/Council etc, it appears to be a private company.

Unfortunately the clamper was still present at the time, so I don't think cutting it off would have been an option, even if she was able to, I believe if you do this it then becomes criminal damage?

    Thanks!
