charged final value fee for unsold item

Hello

On behalf of my Dad...he sold my brothers car on ebay, but when the man came to look at it he decided he didn't want it. The car is now relisted but he's been charged a final value fee of £20.

Any ideas?

Thanks

you need to start a dispute for unpaid item. you should then recieve back the final value fee once it has all been sorted
  • I did wonder that, this hasn't happened to me before so I have no idea! Will this cause any problems for the buyer? Only he decided to pull out as he says that not all the damage to the car was listed, my Dad did his best but the buyer was a pro buyer of cars so expected every tiny thing to be listed. He emailed my dad to say he had left positive feedback so my dad wouldn't be charged!?
  • I agree with the other poster you need to start a dispute to get your FVF back. Simply leaving a positive feedback rating will not stop you being charged a FVF.

You can do a mutal cancel transaction but if the buyer says no then you will still have to pay the final fees. If you report as unpaid then you will get your fees back but the buyer will get a unpaid strike. I guess its how much you trust the buyer to agree to cancel the transaction.
