haha.. if i remember rightly inthebrownstuff is not longer BR.. just incase any trolls are reading this!0
-
just a quick one. - when u apply for a cashminder account.. do ure other accounts get frozen or anything? and can u open one before u go bankrupt? - ie in the process? cheers to any1 that answers! :-D0
-
you should be safe to open one before BR just make sure there is little or no money in it on the day of your BR.
My oh opened one with barclays before BR and that was fine, we did not open one with the co op until the date of BR though0 -
Hi DO NOT open the Cash Minder account until your BR has gone through.
Your other accounts MAY get frozen OR they may NOT!!!
Make sure you withdraw ALL your cash out of your accounts ASAP incase the OR takes it...  :eek:saveoursouls wrote: »just a quick one. - when u apply for a cashminder account.. do ure other accounts get frozen or anything? and can u open one before u go bankrupt? - ie in the process? cheers to any1 that answers! :-DStuart0 -
why not?
many many people here opened co-op accounts before and after bankruptcy without any problems (unless your under the brighton OR's office they insist on closing all accounts even a basic one)
NO guarantee you'll keep your old account either as most are very bankrupt UNFREINDLY
and IF you open a basic account with barclays/co-op then make sure enough money is in the account to cover your living expenses...any more the OR "could" take an interestWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Ha,
Correct, I am now discharged and back on the up again.0 -
I opened my two cashminder accounts some 6 months before I eventually went BR.....the only time a OR will have an interest is if you have anything more than living expenses , ie a few grand?
Co-op really aren't any slower than the great and glorious Barclays....may God bless all those who sail in her....
The time lag is as much about how quick..or what system, the retailers use.
For example, one of my petrol stations will have my transaction on my account within two days..another takes five.
Post Office cash transactions are pretty much instant...in other words, I can't get from my local Post Office, back to my computer, quickly enough to beat the transaction!
Tesco's take around 3 days.....but I usually shop for my cream horn treats well after banking employees have thudded off home.......
Asda are about the same.......I expect to find my Asda saturday jaunt appearing tomorrow....
Sometimes, the tardiness of spends reaching the family vaults [sorry, Co-op]...can be of benefit...a bit like credit?
Shop/spend in the week before one's wages are paid in, and they appear after the monthly blessings....No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
I use a PC programe called Quicken it's much the same as MS Money.
This way I can plan ahead upto 3 MONTHS!!!
I input EVERY transaction and I know how much I have in the bank before the bank does...
Try it ~~~ It's simple & Great :j :j :jStuart0 -
How did you convert quicken from usd to gbp? I ended up using microsoft money0

Good if this works for you but to those who aren't completely au fait with the lethal inertia that is Co-Op....Do not try this at home! Our experts are trained and experienced in the use of these practices and we do not advise you to imitate:DI opened my two cashminder accounts some 6 months before I eventually went BR.....the only time a OR will have an interest is if you have anything more than living expenses , ie a few grand?
