non payment of PPI...?

Hi to all, thanks for taking the time to read my post.
A little information, i was made redundant late last year, purchased a car from Carcraft with added PPI (was told i had to have PPI or i could not have the car), called PPI up and they said they would start paying after 3 month wating period.
The finance company have had 2 payments since Oct last year, i questioned this, and have paid from 03-06 this year.
Now in a letter from the PPI company they say they need evidence from myself looking for work. I have looked through the policy and it doesn't state that they need evidence at all. I send them ABI1 forms fortnightly as proof that i am out of work and actively seeking work.
I called them this morning to question why payments had stopped and they have now said the underwriters need this information (evidence of looking for work) that is why payments have stopped.
Well i called the underwriters and they have no idea what is going on and have logged a complaint.
Are the PPI company trying to pull a fast one (as it were?) I send relevant forms from the job centre giving proof that i am out of work and actively seeking work, (surely this is sufficient evidence).
Also during the converation the CSA asked what i was doing to look for work, what kind of work i am looking for etc. Do i need to disclose to them what i am doing? (I did explain that by being on JSA i have to provide proof to the job centre that i am looking for work, otherwise i would not be entitled to benefits)
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hi there
Unfortunately, even though the benefit office sign the AB1's the insurance companies do tend to request for written evidence of what peeps have done to find work, and jobs applied for and so on.
My hubby has to do the same, or they will delay making payments.
Annoying I know because it does get signed by the JC as well.
The job centre also provide booklets to complete, you write in them your efforts of trying to actively seeking work and what jobs applied for, where and so on.
You could if you have this booklet from the JC, after you completed them, take a photocopy to send to the insurers.
Hope this gets sorted out soon for you, good luck.;)
They should backdate for you as well. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I thanks for the reply, i do understand that they need evidence an ABI1 form is sufficient evidence to say that i am unemployed and actively seeking work. It does not state in the policy that i need "extra" evidence to send to them. If i was not filling in my job work booklet i would loose benefits and subsquently they would not give me an ABI1 form to give to the PPI company. I do not necessarily want the PPI company saying i should be "doing this and that" and conflicting what my job seekers agreement states. I can't see the justification in a CSA asking me what i do to look for work, that is the job of my job advisor surely?0

Yes I know what you mean and if I remember its something that my hubby had questioned them on as well, due to this the insurer then suddenly sent out more details, annoying not knowing much beforehand and I can fully understand how frustrating it is.
You do have a good point though.
Maybe Dunstonh will be along shortly and have some advice on this for you, I would be interested to know more on this also, so thanks for bringing this up, and fingers crossed for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I have read the policy a hundred times and nowhere does it state that i have to do this. Then i get a letter that is as ambiguous as could be with highlighted marks "supposedly" stating that i do in the policy. I have questioned the wording policy with the PPI company and they gave the the run around, in the meantime i am being chased by the orignal lendor (through DCA's x2) demanding money from me. Just because i won't comply to an alleged policy that does not clearly state i have to send evidence in.
My question is ABI1 form is sufficient evidence stating from a Govt dept that i am unemployed and actively seeking work. Would the PPI company then continue to seek the companies that i have made applications to, sent C.V's to etc?0 -

Yes I know what your saying and don't blame you looking into this matter further.
Just a thought, you could actually post about this one in the thread below called:

I'm sure this is the one thread above, copy and paste your post to that thread and hopefully someone will come back with some useful answers and advice for you.;)
I am not sure if the PPI company actually check on this, think they just like to see what we have been doing to seek work. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
