Annoying loan text messages

Hi, first post here. Hope this is in the right section.
About a month ago I did a search for loans on the internet just to have a look at the kinds of deals available. I wasn't really all that serious about taking a loan out. I assumed that it was just going to do a search for me and show me the results on the website. Stupidly, I didn't read the small print of the website I used. Ever since I did this search I have received text messages almost daily and calls from lots of different companies as well. Every time they call/text I ask them to remove me/opt out, but it seems that more and more companies keep getting my number.
Is there anything I can do to stop this? I've just registered my mobile number with the TPS which might help with the calls somewhat, I hope..

Why in the World did you enter your correct details on a website??
Take this as a lesson for the future, NEVER EVER put your correct details on websites unless you are actually taking something up.
For searches, there are a few relevant boxes e.g postcode for Insurances, NCB, endoresements etc etc....
There is NEVER a case where you would have to put your name, telephone number or email address. You are simply asking for trouble (as you have found)
If it demands a correct email address, close the page, it is rubbish and simply wants to farm your details out.
Just slap the keyboard to fill out the boxes, any old random characters. My email for searches is Spam@home.com or similar. My name is something like Mr kjrhrgjkh jkrbhrbk
If I like what I see, I can start again entering my correct details before signing up.0 -
Agree with previous poster - you gave them you mobile phone number, you can't really complain. Just enter a made-up one next time."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Don't they charge you for that if it is not to a 'normal' mobile?0
