A lot of surveyors I found would recommend a full structural survey (the most expensive survey) for any property over 70 years old and wouldn't even quote on the home buyers survey. I'm not saying they have to quote but the house I was buying was 1930's but in great condition and very standard build so I didn't think the full structural survey was necessary.
I was quoted from £250 - £600 for a home buyer's report for a 2 bed end of terrace in south east / suburban london to give you an idea of what it should cost.
Just because a 1930s house looks in good condition to a layman doesn't mean it is: the only way you are going to find out is paying for a full structural survey!
If surveyors are refusing to even quote on a Homebuyers Report, then there is a reason - the first that springs to mind is that old tiles are often replaced with heavier concrete ones without the roof structure being adequately supported. Why would you think you know better than a full qualified structural surveyor? Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
