With every thing we see in the papers at the moment with bankers still receiving large bonuses, bonuses which i gather we must be paying as the tax payers own the majority of the banks, and still a large number of people are struggling with debts and are now unemployed and facing grim times?
Surely this is when one of the leaders now need to step forward and become a hero to us all by soughting out this bank charging ruling and actually giving back to the people what need it the most not bankers who are probably on £100,000 a year plus anyway.
Just imagine if you saw on tele. one of our leaders step forward and ruled today that all bank charge cases were going to be returned i think there would be millions of people out there voting for that potential candidate, i certainley would :T
Well aslong as it wasnt the BNP anyway.
Does any body else agree??

No politician is a Judge so with respect to your views, I prefer to keep the separation of powers under the democracy I live in.

Oh yes and while they are at it , why not say everyone can go overdrawn as much as they like as wellVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

I agree in someways with both the comments you've stated. I agree that politicians shouldnt really have anything to do with this subject but lets face it apart from the supreme courts who else has the power to get the ball rolling. Lets face it millions of people complaining about the charges isnt getting it to move any faster or the OFT by all accounts, just feel this is being dragged out and feel the subject needs to come to some closure.0

Pelirocco as much as i agree with your statement in hard times when people have had no choice but to borrow from the banks and as a result may go overdrawn, whilst people see in the papers and tele. about bankers and politicians claiming and being paid huge bonuses all which comes from the tax payer. why would it be such a problem for Mr John smith who has been made redundant with a family to feed and a mortgage to pay to claim for money which has been unfairly taken from there account.Yes they shouldnt be overdrawn (unless agreed) but at the same time they shouldnt be charged £35 for what literally only cost's £4-£6 a time. Charge people £5 for going overdrawn not anywhere between £35 to £90 which can happen cant imagine why bankers have done so well in the past, can you?0

HSBC, Yorkshire Bank, Abbey, Alliance & Leicester, Barclays etc etc, all with no so called 'tax payer bail out', why does the OP think the tax payer owns the majority of the banks??????0

It is a COURT CASE which means that the LEGAL process should continue. If Politicians get involved in a legal case then I think I will probably have to move elsewhere to a democratic country because if politicians get involved while a court case is ongoing then they are acting undemocratically.I agree in someways with both the comments you've stated. The politicians have messed things up enough without them sticking their oar into legal matters. The MP's are far better off concentrating on fiddling expenses, about the only thing they are good at.0
