I'm a student at uni living at home, does anyone know a good place to get a cheap push bike? i would like a road one as they are more lightweight. I've looked around but couldnt find anything especially cheap. Many Thanks!

Try looking for a second hand one. There are plenty of good ones around that have hardly been ridden - they usually sell at a bargin price too! People seem to buy bikes but then they can't be bothered to ride them so they just sit there gathering dust.

I recommend a second hand one too. Try Gumtree (there's also sites for various different cities if you don't live in London). I found a Specialized Sirrus on there for my husband for £45 which is a massive bargain, its owner was moving back to France and just needed to get rid of it.

Police auctions are also a good bet if the police station selling them is near you.

Look at bumblebee auctions in the bicycle section:

Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

    try ebay.
like someone said previously; as a cyclist I keep my bike for about 3-4 years and then get a new one and sell old one on ebay.
if your lucky you might be able to grab a bargin. depends on how much you want to spend.
You could look at buying a cheap old racing bike frame and turning it into a fixed gear, which are considered fairly cool at the moment
