tescos frequently have f1 stuff especially around christmas and fathers day - they do t-shirts, socks, drinking glasses etc. We get things for my dad and bro who are F1 mad from there as much cheaper than other stores.

Oooh make one for me! LOL

Its probably not very money saver friendly but there is a great series of DVD's that summarises the season. Obviously 2009 would be really expensive, but you could get him a couple of the older years as they go for much cheaper now.

Does he have a fav team? You could go crazy and get logo'd clothes items.

How about a calendar? (thats probably a really girly friend to get!)

How about ciggies? Since fag companies are heavily involved in F1 advertising?

    lol
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.
  • thank you for all the great ideas :)
didnt think off cigs ...hmmm maybe can make them look like a F1 car with card.....he does smoke so this is not as daft as it sounds :)

  • I know its not F1 but if he is also into Top Gear? They have a lot of Stig things about now, Sainsburys had some nice stig gifts in christmas range and I've just seen similar things on play.com

There's also an F1 magazine, that should be easy to get. My OH is into F1 too and my relatives bought him a subscription one year.
  • ebay for f1 memrobillia, i remember getting an ex a magazine from like 1950's i think from an old book store for f1 cars, he loved it, and it was something nice to keep, i paid about 20p for it. Also buy some mags (like autosport magazine) cut out pics of his fave teams and make a collage of the years progress? great year for british f1 with button just winning the championship!
A mini scalextric model of an F1 car? boot sales often sell model toy cars could get a bargain there!
Ebay also do minichamps tiny model helmets for about 5 or 6 quid, something different!
You can find loads of sites (again including ebay) that sell keyrings of the different teams and cars for a few quid too.
Whos his fave team/driver? find out, research them on the net and see if you can find cheap items from they year they were successful?
How about an airfix model of his fave teams car?
Just a few suggestions lol i do these a lot for pressies and my oh likes his F1 too (its how we met actually! he never wouldve looked at me twice if i wasnt wearing a tshirt with his fave f1 team on it imo lol) HTH

    Hi,

I just wanted to say good luck with your F1 hamper. I don't know if you have a home bargains near you at all but they have a lewis hamilton book for 29p rrp is £7.99, alos an F1 mug, deodrant and key ring for £2.99 rrp is £12.99. They also have some f1 toiletries too which are I think 79p.

Poundland are also selling the 2008 review for yes a pound. So thats the bargains out of the way.

Grand prix legends are also good I bought my DS some silver f1 car cufflinks for I think it was £12.99 last year they came in a nice box too.

As Brawn have won the championship how about looking at their team merchansise.

Anyway I hope you get some things sorted out and please post a pic when you have done it, I am sure it will be fab.

    Hugs
