£11.25/month IF you pay by Direct Debit, opt for paper-free billing, are on the (free) Unlimited Weekend Plan and don't use any calling features.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • I do all that allready, I will have to ring then again and see where i get. thanks

If you have your calls with VM and have caller display and bt answer then as you wont make any calls with bt they will be charging you for these facilitys, £11.25 is the line rental if you have paperless billing and direct debit, and the free weekend plan ( or better),but they appear on the bill as a credit (£1.25 and £1.50) so on the bill line rental probably shows as £14, my guess is you are being charged for 1571 and caller display

    Mine doesn't.

My (monthly) bills shows line rental under a 'Calling Plans' heading like this:

01 Oct-31 Oct Charges in advance for Unlimited Weekend Plan comprises Line Rental £10.86

Paper-free discount is shown under 'Your benefits' as:

Discount for paperfree billing Oct 2009 -£1.090

The figures above are as they appear on the bill, pre-VAT (VAT, currently 15%, is added in one lump, not on each separate item).

The £1.50 'discount' for paying by DD is not shown because that is taken off by default and only appears as a charge when you pay by any other method.

Check this thread. It is a scam BT is running now. But will not admit it.

Heinz, you are obviously still on the old billing system, the new one which I am sure you will soon be changed onto lists all of the charges including VAT, so there is no VAt lump sum addition at the bottom.
