  • as the Law Society's procedures for complaining appear as good as those used to censore MPs!

What happened when you complained tot he Legal Complaints Service? Why is is so bad?

My view would be that if you firstly complained to Wolstenholmes and it was a clear reasoned set of concerns and they didn't acknowledge your complaint then the complaints service would be getting very cross and may be even trying to close them down.

Most solicitors would not want a complaint because they are time consuming to deal with even if the solicitor is in the right.

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.
  • Wolstenholmes, according to the BBC has just been shut down and five solicitors have had their licenses suspended by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) amid claims of dishonest behaviour.

According to the BBC the Legal Complaints Commission (LCC) is dealing with 116 complaints from customers who say they have lost money. In a statement it said it intervened on December 24 and 27, adding: "The grounds for the intervention were suspected dishonesty and breaches of the Solicitors Accounts and Practice Rules."

An SRA spokesman said "For those who fear they have lost money, it will be dealt with by the solicitors indemnity insurance or the SRA Compensation Fund."

Such words are of no comfort to those seller’s and buyers who feel cheated and abandoned.
