How much for an NVQ?

I already have a degree and post-grad teaching qualification but I want to complement these qualifications and gain more experience in the field I am starting to move into by doing a part-time NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (couldn't really manage full time due to on-going health problems).

Does anyone have any idea what level the college would make me start at and how much it would cost me to do up to level 3?

Also, would I get support at college for my disabilities (including dyslexia) like I did at University?

Thanks :)

I wouldn't expect you to need to start any lower than NVQ2 and you might be able to go in at level3 with the relevant experience. Where I used to work the fees for level 2 were about £580 and about £880 for level 3.

Most colleges have support for students with special needs.

As a matter of interest, why do you see yourself needing this qualification?

You should ask for the Inclusive Learning Team when you enrol, and support should be made available to you.

I've been doing some PT work for the TaHMS project where I live and I want to understand what I'm actually doing a bit more! I really enjoyed the work and want to do more in this area. I also work voluntary for a mental health charity.

I was originally thinking of doing an MA or an MEd but I think the NVQ will be more useful to me in the long run.
