Wet cat food?

Have started my two on Opticat from Lidl (2-19 box of 12 pouches), they love it and old cat is having lovely soft coat now0

Raw food from Food4cats is what my two have for their main food. A single sausage a day is enough. You don't need to give them a whole one each per day because by feeding raw then they don't need as much as those cats on commercial wet food. They do also get a few handfuls of Orijen dry in the morning though for their teeth. They also get a raw Chicken wing on a saturday which also helps clean their teeth and the bones are good for them as well. Never give cooked bones to an animal though as these could splinter.
Natures Menu didn't suit my two because they were being sick after eating it so really you need to keep experimenting with different brands and companies until you find the right one to feed your moggy.
How much does it cost per day per cat to feed raw with Orijen? I have Orijen and am considering trying the raw sample pack from Food4Cats but would like rough costings if possible. Thanks!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Burns dry is good - never thought to try wet as I read somewhere that it wasn't up to much!
I read on the site Butchers Classic was ok for wet & plan to price it up b4 making a bulk purchase - my two love any wet food as they see it as a treat (which it is as I mostly feed dry).0 -
Joe Englis wet & dry food is excellent - but it's too expensive to feed mine really - I have bought the samples (he doesn't do any free ones)0

You pay about £6 in postage so you have to include that. I buy about £20 of raw a month including postage for two hungry Bengals. You get enough to use a month or even more. It depends on how much he/she needs. 0.4 is per sausage so if you want to buy 4 of the same sausage meat then you punch in 1.6.
Please note that if you are feeding one cat then use half a saugage and keep the other half in the bottom of the fridge in an airtight container for the next day. Don't keep it longer then two days.
Get the trial pack and see how your cat goes on it because some cats don't like raw.0 -

Thanks that's really helpful, I ordered the trial pack yesterday as you get 3kg for £10 which sounds a lot of food!
Noah absolutely loved his first raw chicken wing, so I am hoping he will also like other raw stuff.
Bengals are gorgeous, I've always had rescue cats but really fancy a rosetted Bengal one day, maybe an ex-breeding one ...Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I feed mine Almo Nature Wet it really is the best wet food. I can't recommend it highly enough. I also like Applaws wet food, Schesir and Occassionally High life.
The downside with all of these products is that they are very expensive. I would recommend buying in bulk if I were you ( to save on the pennies- Oh Martin would be proud lol)
I get mine:
Almo Nature 70g Tins - 20 for £12.99
Applaws 156g Tins - £1.15 each
Schesir 6 x 75g Tins for £6.54
Hi-Life 65p Each
I HTH
p.s Mine used to be on Orijen dry but he started farting :rotfl: a lot and it stunk so we decided to take him off of it and put him on Applaws dry.:j I can't do it all on my own, I'm no Superman!:j0 -
My little fat black fella is sitting on the arm of my chair watching me type..totally unaware of the parcel of joy I just ordered for him and his 2 buddies :rotfl:
They will kill for chicken...
Thanks a lot for the food4cats site. It's brilliant. :T

Ahh the search for the perfect food!
I had bought a load of the Bozita tetra packs from Zooplus...but I cant say it has gone down too well here. I have had more success with the Bozita tinned which I think is only 2.5% carbs ( good as cats are obligate carnivores and DO NOT need all those added vegetables and grains, and very good quality.)..have a look Fire Fox, although the labels are not in English so you will need to research!0 -
Just a quick qyestion about the RAW foods from food4cats .
Does anyone cook this stuff or is it always few raw? I have 3 cats and they have different tasttes (unless it's something like a roast chicken or something)...one loves raw mince and falls over himself purring to get at it, the others aren't so keen.
Also, did I get this right? You order the sample pack...a tenner. Then when you find what your cats prefer you send in another order for ~(say chicken mince)...it looks like they deduct that sample pack 10 quid from the next order? Seems a little too generous to me ...I'm a cynic when it comes to both free stuff and my being this lucky (it will make life SOOO much easier for me having this work.
Sorry to be a pain ...it's always nice to know the facts though.
