My elderly mother is registered with tps but still gets loads of sales calls (often when I'm visiting), so are we and we don't get many. Is there anything else I can do apart from asking her to write down who they're from and using tps complaints service?

the trouble is the calls are probably coming from India or somewhere outside the uk, The TPS does not cover them so just tell her to say a polite No Thank You and put the phone down.

If you find any of them are indeed uk based they are actually breaking the law by marketing. All thse companies have to be registered with the TPS, its the law. The TPS blocks all these numbers automatically from marketing companies. Therefore if they are ringing you it means they are not registered and are therefore breaking the law.
You can then get the companies details and report them to the TPS

But there is nothing else apart from leaving an ansaphone on full time.

get a phone with a night mode that will allow calls from selected numbers only .
then set it to night mode all the time .

I sympathise. We have an an explosion of calls in the last 2 weeks all coming up as 'international' on our caller display. As my son is in America at the moment, I have no choice but to answer in case it's him.

I've had every recorded message that you could think of, from credit card 'advise' to 'congratulations you've won a holiday'.

It's infuriating to say the least...and mightily annoying that nothing can be done.

At £90 not very moneysaving now is it, nice to see it is available cheaper elsewhere other than your website
  • It's currently listed on the site at £78.95, RRP is £99.99.

Plus, the site offers the opportunity to have a tree planted for every 50th product sold, giving something back to the environment.
