Bounced Direct Debit

Nationwide have bounced a £28 direct debit as it made me overdrawn by 12p.
I know next month they will charge me £30 for doing this.
Where do I stand?

If this is the first time you have been charged then call them and ask them to waive it as it is a first occasion.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Poster has issue with Nationwide and NOT natwest(I think my username may have lead you to the above post).

  • Nationwide said that it was a mistake and wouldn't charge me, I still got charged. I went back in was told the manager would call back, he didn't. I went in to the branch for a third time and it finally got sorted and the charges were refunded.
    Nationwide are diabolical!
