I always buy ink from https://www.choicestationery.com I have bought Epson compatible cartridges from them for years, but my only HP experience is buying one set of HP88 compatible cartridges, which so far have proved excellent.
I use them as well, excellent service.
I buy my Brother compatibles for under £2 each delivered.;)0 -
There are loads of ink sellers on ebay, I suggest you go through some of those and find a few it all depends on your printer model.
I got a list of 4 that i use, which i search out for friends and family. last time i bought inks i had a dx4800 and bought from inkpower. 12 compatibles for £10 i think including p&p, i only managed to use 1 set before the printer failed due to a small screw falling into it for the 2nd time. still trying to work out where the little screws came from, cost £20 to have the screw removed the 1st time.0 -
I tend to find printerinks.com is usually cheapest also the price comparison site whatink.co.uk is quite good, but you need to know the cartridge codes because you can’t search by printer.0

When you buy a printer it's cheap but the ink isn't. Obvious I know...but people buy a printer without thinking of that, and later start trying to save money.
I had a Lexmark, ink was extrortion...refilling a chore.
One day I saw a chinese gang being arrested on telly for fake DVD and CD production..and there were box and after box of printers and some wierd ink system in the report. I assumed that these guys did a LOT of printing, and that it had to be cheap and good quality. So I looked for the gear online.
It turned out to be Epson R series (R200) at the time...and a continuous ink supply feeding it. I print CDs too...on the actual disc ...as labels destroy them as does marker pen. So I bought an Epson R560 all in one...mainly because it accepted a continuous ink supply kit. You fit the dummy cartridges and then refil external bottle of ink that you buy in a large bottles.
I've used that for over a year and it's saved me a fortune in ink and hassle.
Some printers, like Epson ...are hard to refil anyway, and they don't always like replacement inks from elsewhere. I was looking for some new ink last week for mine and found that a new system has appeared that may suit more people now. A fake cartridge with a seperate ink tank that you can remove and refil instead of the whole thing needing to go...also because it can be run without ink..cleaning heads no longer wastes ink.
Here's a link if you fancy a look :

My advice would be to dump an expensive to use printer and source the important thing first...the ink.

I use cartridge shop online and find their jettec compatible cartridges very good as some compatible inks are really watery.
Often you can get 10% off for repeat business.
I also like that they email me and keep details of what I have bought in my online account so I don't forget to buy ink and can see what ink I have bought in the past.0 -
Damn it, timmers i could have done with that info last week before i bought 14 compatibles for my epson sx200, mind you I don't think it would be cheaper, 14 compatibles with 14ml in each cartridges £10.99
the epson sx200 ab refillable printer carts £39.95, comes with 100ml refill ink of each colour included(see our ink refill kits)
refill kit is 23.80 for 4x250ml of each color, total of 1L.
for the price of the starter kit, i could literally buy 4x14compatibles = 43.96 over the other kit of £39.95,
of course over time it would become cheaper but that would be of course depending on how much printing you do.
lets see ink in AB refill = 400ml
ink in my compatibles 14ml per cart x14carts per set x4sets = 784ml
note, inks I bought from INK-POWER via ebay where not the cheapest, £10.99 for 14x14ml quality known, as good as orginials. I could have bought 12x18ml for £6.99 quality unknown, from 3 other sellers via ebay.0 -

I use 7dayshop for my HP and Brother inks.
I have been using them for 4 years.
I have tried 3rd party inks, but I found that I got clogged up heads on my old Brother printer.0
