Hi,

I have just installed firefox browser, very simple to do and much quicker than IE

However when I click on the read email tab I get MSN hotmail

I have been into IE, tools, internet options, programs and outlook express is set as my default so why is it not coming up when I go through the firefox tab

I have done a search and can't find anything to help me with the problem

So it's over to you guys for some help

Thanks
Chappy

  • Hi,

try going into Outlook Express and setting it as the default email program in there? it should be under "tools" and then the General Tab at the bottom.

when you say you click on the "read email" tab, where is this tab? is it in teh dropdown of "tools" on the firefox menu?

    Hi,

Outlook is set as the default

I have inserted the email tab along the tool bar, next to bookmarks, home, relaod, ect,

When you left click on the email tab you have two options, read mail or new message, when I go into read mail it takes me to hotmail, yet when I click new message this takes me to outlook express which I can then create a new message.

    Is this any clearer

Outlook Express is an integrated part of Internet Explorer. I don't understand why you think that changing the default settings in Internet Explorer will affect Firefox. If you want to use Firefox as your browser, perhaps you should consider using the associated Thunderbird as your e-mail client.

You can use Outlook Express for your emails even if you use Firefox.

You've checked that OE is the default mail handler in OE. Also check Internet Explorer, Tools - Internet Options - Programs tab - Email: Outlook Express.

I am using outlook express and firefox, when I click on tools, the drop down menu gives the option of read message or new. When I click on read, it automatically takes me to outlook express inbox. So perhaps it is just how you have set it up.
