Barring mobile numbers on my home phone

My daughter is with sky and needs to be able to bar anyone making calls to mobiles from the landline. Does anyone know how to do this?

You call your phone provider & they set it up.One word of warning tho.
If you have Sky multiroom or are within the first year & are required to have the Sky box(s) connected to a phone line,be prepared to get the warning letters from Sky as your Sky boxes wont be able to do a ringback which is done every month.
The call barring prevents the box dialling the '087' numbers it uses to connect to Sky.

A Commtel Phone Guard is probably the most reliable method but they're getting a but costly now because they are in short supply.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

By barring mobile numbers on a landline,it also barrs the number used to dial Sky every month by your Sky box because it bans a range of numbers (070/080 ect)
Because of this Sky will send you warning letters as their not getting a ringback &,if not complied with, will start to charge full price for the tv packs on the second multiroom boxes.
    As I stated before:
The call barring prevents the box dialling the '087' numbers it uses to connect to Sky.

Sky digiboxes 'phone home' on freephone numbers, not 087 numbers.

What I described above I have came across when I was working for Sky as an Engineer numerous times,so I think I know what I'm on about.
I know it's a freephone number & that mobile call barring blocks the number from connecting.

087 numbers are not freephone (080 and 0500 are).

My box dial 0800 731 7929 when 'phoning home'.

I guess you mean a Sky Installer, not an " Engineer ".

As Heinz states correctly, Sky Receivers " dial home " on an 0800 number, not a chargeable 087 number.

No,I'm an engineer having being trained & worked on cable networks as a network service engineer from mid 90's to redundency when VM bought NTL in 2006,Then working for Sky as an engineer both on their TV Network & Broadband & I now work for myself.
I know considerably more & have the qualifications than a Sky Installer,80% of whome know f/all outside installing a Sky system.
And as I stated before, something in the mobile blocking stops the Sky box from getting a ringback. The box can dial Sky but Sky cannot respond back due to the block put on the line. However when I asked someone at Sky why this happened, what caused it ect,no one was able to give me an answer

Fair enough, however you have not clarified the 087 number that you stated was used for ringing home from a Sky Receiver.

I am certain that it is in fact an 0800 number.
