s75 question

I recently purchased some bingolotto game cards from Tesco and paid for them using my mastercard credit card. One of the cards won a laptop.

Since the draw, the company behind bingolotto has entered into administration putting the chances of the prize being paid out into jeopardy. As this is a breach of contract on the part of bingolotto if they dont pay out the prize would I be able to claim against my credit card company under s75?

Did you buy more than £100 of tickets? If not then you've not got much chance of a s75.

Maybe contact Tesco and they might make you a goodwill gesture? Don't expect much though as they will only have made a small percentage on the sale cost, but might be good for £20 in gift vouchers

Only bought £8 of tickets on my card. The prize in question is worth £500 though

Was a bit of a long shot really but thought it may have been a possibility

IMO you would be entitled to a refund of £1 for the one winning ticket - even S75 does not allow the winnings from what essentially is a gamble to be enforced.
You spent a £1 you get a £1 back you have not lost out financially.
