Indeed, I earn over £40k a year and have a minimal mortgage and they turned me down.0 -
ffacoffipawb, perhaps it is because you look remarkably like a (reformed) criminal. Good luck with that list!0

I just processed my application ( just missed the 4pm deadline for same day processing) , I have a very good " credit rating" , and for this type of card would not care if limit was as low as £1000 ( as would repay fully each month) BUT I am stoozing a fair bit at moment & I wonder if that will go against me- will report back on decision.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

How about thanks and links to the earlier mentions of this card on the motoring thread, on the cashback thread on this board and another thread on this board.I think....0 -
I applied last Tuesday
Friday had heard no reply other than 1st e mail so wrote and said I have an excellent credit rating and am happy to take it elsewhere - got a reply within 2 hours accepting it
Wonder what credit pointing system they use as some of u guys should have been accepted really0 -
I am not prepared to put all the details but I put down a six figure household income and got turned down.
I have done a bit of stoozing and been a bit of a tart but last card was opened in February (3 months ago) so I don't think it's too bad.
My credit score is about 875 out of 1000 which I think is pretty good.
Going to see if my husband gets one as he has been less of a tart than me and earns more.0 -

I suspect they only want those that have paid interest on other credit cards (I never have).
The 3% cashback is nothing compared to what they can make on that.
They get less than 3% from merchants, so the cashback is a loss. And I doubt it can be sustained anyway.0 -

Will be mega pi**ed off if dont get approved as have no credit problems. Do you think Bargain Booze will count as groceries?0 -
Hi folks,
With regard to the credit score, this comes from GE themselves, I did a detailed conversation with them over this, and their specifically note (though in different words) that this is effectively a cherry picking card and will only go to higher credit scorers.
Obviously there is no way to know what the limit is - as everyone scores differently, but if you've had any defaults I suspect i wouldn't bother applying.
And a quick note to Michaels. I would be delighted to thank the other threads, must admit I haven't seen any of them, feel free to link them to here though and I will take a peek.
