That is very strange. Especially as some of us have applied in the evening and had confirmation/rejection the following day only this last few days.0

Tried that again and no luck - Maybe it really was faulty, else I managed to scrub it too much!
Are you meant to just peel back the plastic, then rub the paper, or rub the plastic cover.
Tried both bits, neither seem to have any number on them.
Thanks for your help!
Cheers
Steve
The one I received had a plastic cover with a tab on one end that you use to peel it off - the number is on the plastic bit.

Curiously, the PIN was addressed to me using my full name i.e 'Ms Lois Lane' whereas the rejection letter was addressed just with my initial i.e. Ms L Lane' as though I had made two separate applications, although I definitely didn't.

Ah yeah, my one did too!
In my spate of madness I scratched the coating off that plastic bit, thinking you'd see the PIN underneath, rather than peeling it back!
Ah well, at least I can get it right next time - Do any two banks have the same approach to these things?!

My experience is that I applied on Wednesday afternoon and got my confirmation e-mail, then within a few hours I got an acceptance email. On Friday I phoned up to double check I had indeed applied for the Everyday card (after reading the other posts on this thread) and they confirmed I had, and also gave me my credit limit. Just waiting for it to arrive now!Mortgage-free wannabe!0

I was surprised I got accepted. I'm self-employed, income is 4 figures, and my husband's is in mid 5 figures. I've never paid interest on a credit card (just have one other I pay off in full every month). I probably have a good credit rating, though, despite not being a big earner.
I applied on the 26th, got my acceptance email on the 27th and received the pin on the 1st of June. Now I'm just waiting for the card to find out which one I've got. When I applied, I used Martin's link and my acceptance email didn't mention anything about balance transfers or whatever, so hopefully it's the right one. When it arrives, I'm going to ask for another card on the same account for my husband to use.0 -

Perhaps they're having trouble fitting my credit limit on A4 paper!
I'll phone them again tomorrow.
Thanks

Does anyone know if there are any sites offering sign up bonuses for this (ie quidco but i've already checked them).
Or to GE not tend to do that?
ThanksProud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0 -
My story..
Applied online for the Everyday card yesterday (Sunday) morning - received initial "thank you for applying" email at 7:21 AM followed by the same Congratulations email as mentioned in post 76 at 11:21 AM - just 4 hours later.. [I also think my new credit card number is in the subject line (right number of digits anyway)]
I wasn't expecting anything until at least Monday (i.e. today) according to what their first email had said about processing times etc.
For reference, I did not choose to do a balance transfer, did not take insurance and always pay off my other cards automatically in full each month via direct debit (unless I am on a 0% deal which is very rarely in my case)

I have a small business without a hugh turnover and pay 1.75% commision to the bank on credit card transaction. The credit card companies will only see a proportion of this and big retailers such as supermarkets will negotiate a better commision rate than me. They're losing money - maybe 2% on every transaction that they pay the 3% cashback on, so it can't last long
I imagine they are also hoping that their customers will use it at other retailers where they are only giving 0.5% cashback...
