Suffering from Anxiety

Peppa Pig it happened to me when I was being made redundant. All part of the process, and we all deal with it differently. Take a couple of weeks out - get signed off work for a fortnight if you are feeling really bad, take time out for yourself. I did and I spent nearly a week in bed, take the tablets if you have to and go for some good long walks - helps the stress. Then start planning and preparing for August don't feel as if you have to wait till the last minute to find yourself another job and find out what you are entitled to in the way of time out to look for another job you should be entitled to it as they have given you so much notice.

You will probably find something much better than you are in at the moment, it happened to me (twice), you get complacent when you are happy and settled in a job and it takes something like this for you to look but there is always some better job waiting for you.

    Hey peppa

Just wanted to send you a virtual hug and wish you better. Sounds like you've been doing too much my darling. The holiday is in good time, hope it's a fun and relaxing one.

I know how important a DFD is but, most importantly, our health and family have to come first. Big hugs and get yourself well or nothing else will matter.

    xx

I couldn't have put it better myself. I too have had worries about being made redundant. I have a large mortgage and a young family to look after. It sent me over the top. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't go out. In the end went to my GP and she signed me off work for 10 weeks with medication. Also mentioned the importance of excercise (apparently this produces very good hormones which combat stress). At the end of it all although my company shed jobs - I got transfered to another large company with good career prospects.

If you do take time off work - and are being made redundant anyway - you can use this time to recharge. It really is a worrying time when you have the prospect of losing your job. I hope you have loads of support at home.

    Good Luck

    Hey Pepperpig...

Have you got a plan together for paying for the holiday in June? Could you get a loan from a family member to help with this - you could may be pay them back £10 a week/month? Just throwing ideas out really. May be you feel a little anxious because your DFD is putting additional pressure on you and you think that if you don't hit this date then you are a failure - which of course you are not! May be you could take stock and look at what you have achieved so far - I see you have knocked a big chunk off your debt so far - well done!

    :)

Thank you all for some lovely replies, I am so touched.

Wdaci, you asked if my GP checked my blood pressure, she did as I was getting contraception pills at the same time. so that was fine. I have taken your advice and have been counting and taking a deep breath when I feel anxious. It seems to working.

bommer, lovely words thank you, I am sure things will work out for the best. I just need to get focused.

Hi Annie, I have worked it out that I can pay so much over the next few weeks, selling stuff, Avon etc. But will be about £300 short, which I may have to borrow. It is also my birthday the day after the amount is due, so I am thinking no birthday present for me.

I do feel anxious because my DFD is putting additional pressure on me, which makes me feel a failure especially if I have to borrow money.

    Here's to feeling better soon.

i suffer from anxiety too, so know how you feel when your stomach starts knotting and nothing stops it. I have been told that it doesease with time. I started a thread a while back on here about it and there were loads of good tips like rescue remedy for example, and someone downloaded some relaxation music.

Have a read there may be something useful on there for you. And if not you can always have a good moan with the rest of us and get it off your chest.

    Take Care
