hi, my pc keeps shutting down all time, ive just rebotted pc 3 times now keeps shutting down,i got firewall/antivirus instaled but stil shuts down,im using new usb conection to internet with webstar software ,can some1 help me,,,,thank you ...jewlls

Disconnect the USB, connec tion and try that.

Some ADSL modems suck too much power.

Is it a USB Hub?

See how you get on with that.

I attached a cheap USB hub and my machine crashed all the time, took me months to find out why. Get another USB PCI card and if yours is 1.0 up grade it 2.0.

Once I ditched the hub and increased ports with another USB card all has been fine.

Except if I open Outlook between 10:15-10:30pm then my PC will crash about 1 in 3 times....lol

I am using broadband webstar modem which is connected straight to the usb in the back of the pc, the usb is an onboard. I used to use a network card but it it broke at the moment so having to use usb w/ webstar drivers

When does PC crash what are you doing?

Have you loaded any new software?

Have you checked for Spyware, have you checked for Virus.

Empty cache and delete all temp files.

Get machine to do a disk scan and disk clean up.

Unload modem drivers and reinstall.

Start with the easy things and the general house keeping operations and see how it goes.

Pc has been rebooted today. oohhh sooo many times lol the only new software is the webstar driver, I keep getting messages poping up saying about adware/spyware, but they look like fake messages done scan disk but never finds anything.

The computer crashes when Im browsing the internet.

Download Adaware SE - Google it and run that for starters.

I have downloaded it and it found 12 critical errors and now the buggers are quarentened I hope this solves the problem,
