Consumer help with return of goods for repair

Hi,
I have read via trading standards that goods sent for repair should be returned within a reasonable time and should cause minimum convenience. I have a question. What is deemed as a reasonable time? My situ is that I purchased a carrycot from precious little ones, and the press stud which keeps the top cover off came off. I got told it had to go for repair due to it happening 6 weeks after purchase (around 2 and half of those weeks where pre pregnancy and birth time) so it's only been used for around 4 weeks. I sent it back 3 weeks ago on Monday and have still not had it back. PLOs t&Cs say repairs can take upto 6 weeks which I think is not a reasonable time! Especially as we bought this so baby could be comfy as opposed to closed in in the buggy. Also it doubles as somewhere to sleep when we visit for a while. So at the moment we are inconvenienced and I think 3 weeks for a press stud repair is shocking. Can anyone offer any advice??
