I think if your wife wants a boob job she should get into debt for it herself.

I don't think luxuries should be put on credit.
If it's not a luxury and it's a genuine health issue (which include psychological issues) then she should be able to get it done on the NHS.

If she wants it then she/you should work and save up for it.
This means you don't need to pay interest or insurance and don't put yourself at any risk of not being able to afford repayments.

Borrowing is a necessaity in some cases e.g. home and sometimes isjustified for a car. But over and above that your finances will be massively better if you save up for luxuries.

You're assuming it's only the wife that wants it done! ;)

    OP, two options:

0% on purchases card (if they'll accept it, and assuming there's no fee for using plastic!), and then tart the debt around 0% BT cards until repaid or 0% BT cards are no more, whichever comes first.

Take a 0% 'money transfer' from the Virgin Money card, pay a 4% fee (equates to approx 3% APR), and then tart the debt as above until repaid.

The former may get you section 75 (or is it 38DD? ;)) protection, whereas the latter won't.

The question is whether the issue is a luxury that it's worth getting into debt over - I could get credit for a very fancy sportscar, but it would totally screw me over with the debt payments and mean i couldn't eat or go out
  • You pay for one boob and get your wife to pay for the other!!

Hopefully you can get them done at the same time;);)

Sounds crazy. Tell her to get a job and fork it out herself.

As for marriage, I would prefer separate bank accounts, as I prefer financial control. ;)

GF can be an expensive hobby lol

Yeah I'd have to agree. It is a lot of money. If she wants it, she should really pay for it herself.

If you have problems repaying it in the future, it's your credit file that gets damaged. Bigger breasts may give you many hours of fun but they aren't going to pay the bills or put food on the table.
