Partial delivery - can I ask for delivery charge back?

Hi

I ordered from a webite (Kiddicare) which has a very good delivery record - free delivery which is usually next day. However, I needed an item for this weekend (nice stairgate which fits house decor not a standard white one) so paid an extra £12.99 for Saturday delivery.

The tracking email said there would be 3 packages but when it was delivered this morning there were only 2. I told the driver that there should be another one but he assured me that he only had 2 and showed me the label which didn't state how many packages there should be.

I have spoken to Kiddicare and they have contacted the depot who have confirmed that it is still at their hub. They will get back to me later to tell me if it can come out today.

My question is, can I expect (demand) the money back for the Saturday delivery if they cannot?

Many thanks in advance

  • Well I would have thought that you could ask for the delivery money back but as it is still Saturday then why not give them a chance to deliver the missing parcel first, it might still turn up? Pretty good customer service in my opinion if they are doing their best to sort this out for you today, after all it isn't their mistake but the mistake of the courier for not loading it onto the van. If it doesn't turn up then you could ask them for the delivery charge back but I wouldn't demand just yet.

    Hi

Just thought I would update on this. I didn't even need to ask for a refund of delivery charge - the lady told me she would credit me when she called to say they couldn't get the parcel to me on Saturday. I am aware that it is not Kiddicare's fault but surely they need to get a refund from the couriers ... they obviously do, so there is no problem. Except for the damaged item that was delivered... Fingers crossed their customer service continues to be good!

    Thanks for the advice.
