deposit paid car refund poss? car dealer

would appreciate any help. I have paid approx 10% deposit (using cap one credit card) with car dealer before doing hpi check. if the check comes back with finance owing or any other problems will i be able to ask for/demand money back or would i need to claim thru credit card company (that is always assuming therre is a prob and they refuse to refund). Am only asking for future knowledge and of course worst case scenario as am due to pay the balance today. Also who are the best to get hpi done with. thanks for any helpful information you can share.;)

If it's a dealer, then they should have done the HPI check themselves when they first took in the car - they should hold a copy of file and you can ask to see it before you agree to pay the balance. I don't see why they would have a problem maybe giving you a photocopy too, for your records if you asked for it??

If there are any problems with the HPI, then I would have thought that you would have very good reason to demand your money back! If I wanted to do a check, I'd go direct to HPI themselves.... http://www.hpicheck.com/
