I think it's coal tar based. It heals splits, cracks, chilblains, grazes, extreme dryness and can be used as lip gloss or a barrier cream. It lasts for ages and ages and ages without deteriorating and a tiny amount goes miles. In winter, it protects against windburn and in freezing temperatures it can mean the difference between looking/feeling good and being sore, split and looking frazzled.

Yes, it is a bit medicinal, but a lot of people who remember coal tar soap from years ago will find it quite reassuringly familiar.'

Actually, coal tar soap is still available from lots of sites like zooscape.com, and under different brands like Wright's, Soapworks and others!
  • Oh, right, I thought it had been banned in favour of coal tar 'scent'. Good to know. Thanks!
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
