i am trying to sell my car and advertised it in autotrader. Over the next few days we got lots of calls from companies saying that they had 5 people waiting to buy our car tonight with bankers drafts. we registered with one called vehicle link and paid them £89.99. and guess what, we had no calls. the next day i phoned them (taped the call) and they said if they haven't SOLD the car within 14 days they will give me a full refund.
Well the 14 days are up and not a single phone call. i phoned today to ask for my refund but they keep hanging up. one person said "how much did you pay?" when i said 89.99 she replied "more fool you" and then hung up.
as you can imagine im livid.
i have tried giving them abuse down the phone, silent calls, my attitude is if i keep their phone line busy they cant use it to con anyone else. And i have free calls all day so it wont cost me anything but my time, which i have plenty of (to annoy them anyway)
so im asking does anyone else have any ideas how i can get my revenge?
i am waiting on trading standards to get back to me but im not holding my breath.

i thought maybe we could all ring them and give them grief, saying give the McGregg's their money back!!!!
any ideas would be most welcome
by the way REAL MATCH are just as bad but when i played back the recording of our conversation they did back down and gave me a refund.
im guessing the moral of this story is if it sounds to good to be true it is.

Presumably you paid on credit card? I would have thought that was the first port of call. Ring CC company and tell them you want a chargeback
Meanwhile - I'll try ring 'em,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

paid it using debit card as i dont like cc's. bank said there is nothing they can do.
also they keep their fees under £100 so alot of credit cards will not do anything(so someone told me) not sure if CC companies have this policy!

Just rang them, I was going to tell them I was from a newspaper but they didn't ask. They kept me waiting about 3 mins but eventually put me through to their Customer Services. Nice sounding lady assured me that they would issue a refund on an unsold vehicle. Girll that answered the phone first seemed a bit of a 'Troll' it sounded like someone's front room with a loud stereo on!

no im not hanging up have been put through to customer services at least 10 time today, as soon as i tell them who i am they hang up. 1 person said i could have a refund (the one i taped saying it the other day) but said she cant do it. transfered me to someone else who said i cant have a refund as they had MATCHED my car to 11 people who wanted to buy it. where are they. she said they only had to match your car to buyers and as they had done that i was not entitled to a refund. but the other lady said i was entitled to a refund if they didnt SELL the car.
confused? im getting there!!

How can you tell thats the same company? I tried CoHo for Vehicle Link and Motor Link (as I think they were previously called) but found nothing conclusive. I tried ringing them again just after 5pm. I was going to just ask them what their address was, but no one answered.
