Plasma v LCD

I currently own a Sony 44 inch rear projector and have been looking at plasma & lcd tv's recently due to their fall in prices.

The skin tones on the Sony are excellent but after viewing some plasma & LCD's this weekend, I thought that they were pretty poor.

I realise that high definition is coming, so what are your thoughts about plasma i.e hot running, screen burn, longevity and LCD i.e. relatively small screen sizes, pixelation etc...

I'd be interested in what you think.

I have heard that plasma screens are good for only four years, and then burn out.
I am waiting for LCD to drop more in price, and then may take the plunge.

I`ve been doing installs on both plasma and lcd and personally in wouldn`t have either. As you have said life span on plasma is very poor although is likely to be a little longer than stated.
LCD life span is better more like 8-9 years which is compairable with CRT tv.
Both plasma & LCD picture quality in my opinion is less than ideal. I`d wait for high definition. Sony are likely to be the best as they are ploughing millions into this but you will pay for this in the retail price 8) 8) 8)
