Is there such a thing? we have just taken posession of a house who's previous owner was clearly obsessed with spotlights...they are the type that twist and lock into the socket (GU10 i think) All in all i would say across 4 rooms we have about 30 of the little beggers waiting to draw lots of costly electric.

Though if my calculations are correct and assuming they are 20w lamps which i will check if i had them all running for 5 hours a day all year round assuming tv and cooking had used up the more expensive electric units for the year that my monthly cost for them would be around £7 of which changing the bulbs would work out far more expensive....food for thought though when they go popDebt Free Marathon: Start 01/06/09 £16714 - Current Position £14514 - Finish Line Xmas 20100

You could try LED bulbs. Very low power consumation. Screwfix sell them, or do a search.0

There was a thread earlier about these bulbs, you can get CF GU10's from IKEA for IIRC about a fiver (cos I have one) 9W.
