Hi there
I would check if you have an old statements and if you find the account numbers ask if they would be kind enough to post up copies of your breakdown on all loans you have taken out with them.
If 6 years you may be lucky, how long ago did you settle them? The one and only "Dizzy Di"

well I took one out when I was still in navy, my eldest DD is just 6, oooh but I just remembered hubby paid my loan off for me in Feb 2004 after DD was born, so was actually settled just under 6 years. I paid them back about £6000 ish so was bigger than I thought, Im not sure how Long I paid it before I paid it off in 1 lump. I may go and ask them to bring up that loan account on the system if they can?0

You could then request a SAR if you want to.;)
This should allow you to go back approx 6 years, saying that I was lucky with some of mine by receiving info going back to even earlier years, do what you feel is best hun, maybe they would be kind enough to supply you with the info free, without the need of having to request for SAR where a payment is made for that one. Hopefully you will save yourself a tenner if they do send you the details you require, fingers crossed.
Anyway, for the SAR template letter, if you decide to go this direction, link here

bit of an update as I went into a branch today and just asked the girl behind the counter if i could have the account number of my past loan.
she gave me my account number, she gave me the monthly payments i had to make, she also gave me the date i paid it off in full. Will I need the date I started the loan for the purpose of the letter?
This loan was for £6000 she couldnt tell me what the PPI that I paid on it was.
I was also thinking, as I paid it off in full before the end date I would of still paid the PPI for the whole amount of loan wouldnt I? Im sure that the only reduced thing was the interest?
Umm also she said I had previously had 5 loans
But I think I will just got for this one as was biggest.
Also another question, I am claiming for LLoyds credit card PPI, plus I will be claiming for a Lloyds Loan PPI, will they pay seperate if I win? or would they just take it all off the Lloyds credit card amount?
Im only asking as the Lloyds credit card amount, even though is in my name, is my dads debt? The lloyds loan PPI payment if i get it I would of liked to of paid my own debts off?
Sorry for all the thousands of questions again.

ok Just a little extra, I am not 100% I paid PPI on this, But I do kind of recall thinking it was way OTT payments.
I took £6000 over 60 months, the lady in bank told me I had been paying £156.51 a month. I have just calculated this and it works out the total of the loan would of been,
£9390.60
So over £3300 wouldnt of just been interest as at that point my credit history wasnt wrecked lol. So PPI must of been included in that somewhere along the line.0 -
ok now im even more confused?? I thought I would call LLoyds just to find out the date I opened the loan. and this is what the really helpful lady told me!
I opened a loan for £4991, Plus PPI at £1409 total = £7409.71 I opened this one in Dec 2002, Paid it off in Jan 2004.
But then she said I had a bigger loan taken out after.
This was £6000 Plus PPI at £1748.68 = £8346.68.
This loan was opened in Jan 2004 and then closed in Feb 2004
Im not sure why I did that? I tad confused there lol
But what should I do? I have 2 different Loans with 2 different acconut numbers, So do I write 2 letters? Do you think I am entitled to this back, do you think I would of paid the whole PPI on the 1 month loan? Im sure i would of paid the loan, plus PPI but only interest for the month I had it? Im just getting more and more confused as I go on lol0 -

Hi hun
If you were mis old for the same reasons then yes, you can keep to one letter, and remember to enclose both account numbers, that will be fine.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

yes on both i was just to feel that it was part and parcel of loan and not optional on both.
just your thoughts on this part if you dont mind
sorry i will stop bugging you soon

Awe bless you hun, your not bugging me......:rotfl::D my puter is playing up again and really slow.
In regards of being refunded, this can vary from one bank to another, some will if in arrears, pay towards them and if anything remaining, they will refund back to you, but otherwise I would personally put it into writing once you know and request they do this on your request, due to your personal reasons, there is no harm in doing that.
However, for more on refunds, check on how the FOS also calculates these, this may also give you some idea here:
