Ebay help req please.

hello peeps,

I bid for a item on ebay and was the winner.

The seller didnt put a costing on the postage costs so i emailed him for a total price as per e bay rules.

I asked ebay for his details as he hadnt replied to my emails etc.

He responed before i phoned him with a rude email stating that he wasnt prepaired to sell the item at this winning price etc and was swearing.

I copied the header from the email and the body and have sent this also to ebay from which i am waiting a reply.

He has also phoned me and become abusive, when i said that i was willing to pay a reasonable postage charge for the item

what worries me is that he now, Is that I think he has my full home postal adress for which this plonker will use against me.

all this and all i did was bid on an item which i thought was legit.

item number was 180000146459

i just found out same item relisted under diffrent number 9730475247

I am relitivly new to ebay and am not quite sure if i shall carry on buying bits and bobs etc

thanks for your replies in advance.

Well you have managed to do him a power of damage already..new seller...1st feedback and its negative. He will struggle to sell anything the guy is obviously an !!!.

Report him to EBay and walk away now. You won't be getting the item.

But don't let that put you off the next time you see no postage qoted get an answer from seller before bidding.

    Good luck

You have been unlucky enough to come up against a moron but don't let this put you off. Most sellers are very reasonable. As Hintza says, I think it's unlikely that he'll be selling anything under this ebay name. Unfortunately, I expect that in 7 days times when all his listings run out, he'll simply re-list under a new name, so whatever you do, if you're still in the market for this item, check very carefully that any item you bid on is not coming from this seller (look for identical pictures, item location).

I've put the relisted item on watch.

I'm intrigued to see if he gets a bite.

My guess is that he won't sell a thing under that user Id.

I'd walk away from this one. A word of advice for the future though, never bid unless you know the p and p, if the seller doesn't show it then email him and ask.

This guy is a bit too dim for ebay, I'm tempted to ask him a question about how he takes credit cards as a new seller is unlikely to have an expensive merchant account set up for so little stock.

You have probably had a lucky escape.

i think its a shame when some sellers can be like this! especially if ur new to ebay! (its a good job you didn't pay anything)

so just to let you know that most of us ebay sellers are really decent people, but you always get one!

and like hintza has said - if he has a negative already, im sure no one will trust this seller!

    good luck

Please don't let this put you off ebay. There are a hell of a lot of genuine buyers and sellers and the more you use ebay the easier they will become to spot. I think this guys selling days are over now anyway with -1 feedback!

i have changed my address on ebay so it says 'please email me for address' as i am worried about the same thing.

then when you pay, you can change your address or write it in the notes to seller section.

make sure you have paypal to guarentee you insurance on items that dont show up etc

    hope this helps

I understand where you're coming from but you could be reported for invalid contact details I think.

as long as your address is right that you registered with thats fine. but you can add postal addresses, and this is where i have done it, add a postal address as please ask me for address or similar, then when you go to checkout you can change the postal address to the one you want. this way you have your real address on file but you have this as protection against any vindictive personal attacks (ie letters etc) from sellers like the aforementioned.
