Hotel in Edinburgh - recommendations?

Hi all,

I'm looking to go to Edinburgh for a night within the next couple of weeks, and I am looking for some hotel recommendations

I'm looking for something pretty central, but not too noisy, maybe with a spa/pool, a good standard (it's for a romantic night!) and budget is maximum of £120 for the night, obviously the lesser the better!

Have a look at Martin's Cheap Hotels article if it helps any though I'm sure someone here can recommend a decently priced hotel in Edinburgh.

I've been living in Edinburgh for a year now,and my parents came to visit in August for a joint 50th birthday celebration. They stayed at the Apex Hotel in the Grassmarket...it has a spa, pool, restaurants and also does posh "pub grub" in their bar. Also really central, and the rooms are absolutely gorgeous! Very nice hotel. I looked on their site (I cant post links yet) and they seem to have weekend deals from £40, so I guess it would be worth a look.
Lovely views of the castle from the rooms too - ask for a room at the front :beer:

oh and this time of year the Grassmarket is busy, but definately not noisy....not like in August!!

Or you could try the Holiday Inn beside the Zoo, nice pool and beauty treatment room. Thread here for discounts...

Thanks for the idea, the Apex one looks lovely, but can't find anything near a £40 deal, more like £140! Will maybe try and play around with different dates and see what I can get!
