Birds Nesting

It seems we have birds nesting under the roof tiles, or we think we do as we can hear the little darlings at 4am every morning twitering away just above our bedroom window!!!! When would be an appropriate time to check it out and fill in the hole so they cant come back next year?

Many thanks

Any time after the fledglings have flown the nest. To be on the safe side, leave it until September.

Careful about blocking the hole as it may provide necessary ventilation for the roof. You can simply roll up some chicken wire and stuff it in the hole. That way, you still get the ventilation (if needed) but the birds can't get into the roof space.
